This is a high quality Rosebud Wax Seal Pendant, made using lost wax procedure from an Antique Seal of Ecclesiastic Religious Origin belonging to the Platrides family collection. The original Seal was gifted to our family collection by the Archbishop and first President of Cyprus Makarios the III, shortly before his death in 1977. Cyprus is a deeply religious country of Christian Orthodox descent dating back to Byzantium and various relics and antiquities have been left behind or gifted to private museums and individuals. Roses symbolize God's love at work in people's lives. These elegant flowers regularly show up in reports of miracles and encounters with Angels. Roses symbolize love and beauty, therefore, they also represent ladies and the female gender. Roses are a frequently used flower symbol. From a Christian perspective, a rose is a symbol of heaven and harmony in the world. Furthermore, the rose is considered the flower of the Virgin Mary.
